The biggest secret of all: Jessa is dragon marked, a designation that places her in grave danger. The dragon marked are destined to resurrect the dragon king, a fearsome ancient warmonger. And they must be eliminated.

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to live as a shifter, or a vampire, or a troll? Well, maybe not a troll, but you get my drift. To live in one of the fantasy worlds we immerse ourselves when we pick up a book of this genre. To live in a community that takes care of each other and protects their own to the detriment of themselves? I would love to be Jessa. To have the Compass boys at my back, no matter what. To be loved as deeply as she is and to love another like she does.

I liked the way the author presented the abandonment my Jessa’s mom and her reappearance of her with her “surprise.

I enjoy the idea of a possible love triangle/quadrangle/ true mate angle. I hope in my heart of hearts that she chooses to address her emotions and those of Braxton’s, but I feel like there could be something with Louis or, at least, I would feel bad if he gets left out in the cold. This series could easily be a Twilight/ Vampire Diaries story with Team Braxton/Maximillian/Louis banners floating around.

I can’t wait to see what the bear shifters have against the Lebron’s and how Jessa is going to help in the war that is coming. I wonder if she will be a positive player or if she will end up on the other side of the fence.

5 starsGR

I liked this book. It was sitting on my TBR list for NetGalley for longer than it should have and am sad I didn’t make it a priority as it is my preferred genre and is pretty much the type of story I like to read on any given day. It has the best dialogue without many he/she said moments, or if there are, they aren’t very noticeable. I followed the end of the book with an immediate search and seizure of book 2, Dragon Mystics and am happily plotting my alone time with the next chapter of Jessa’ adventures.

I would like to thank NetGalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me a free digital copy in return for an honest opinion.

All that crap.

After her divorce and the death of one of her patients, an ER nurse, Kelly Newland, searches for a fresh start in the little town of Churchston, unaware that trouble and danger have followed her. As she learns to accept her failures in life, she befriends some of the locals, except for one disgruntled man, the hero everybody loves to hate.

He could feel their stares on his back, their judgments hovering over their heads.

Will Parker suffers from PTSD, and as the black sheep of the sleepy lakeside community, he struggles to get back up on his feet. Initially, Kelly and Will mix like oil and water, but as a series of dangerous incidents strike the people closest to them, their antagonism turns from cool to hot. It is when they realize it is impossible to resist each other that a killer closes in on them, threatening the love they’ve dared to find. (Book Blurb by the author)

This book was fascinating but had a few inconsistencies and errors. I was confused about whether she is on a lake or a beach because there was a lot of flip-flopping back and forth on this. I felt the nursing angle was good except the amount of technical jargon was a bit of a put off even though I am aware this is Kelly’s personality.

This being said I loved Will and Kelly’s love story. The conflicts posed are believable in an unbelievable kind of way. The mystery woman kept me interested until she was discovered and the final garage scene was written wonderfully.

Will’s character was so tortured that the reader can see why Kelly would feel the need to fix his pain, especially after suffering so much of her own. Kelly’s attitude made me want to hug her one minute to ease a little of her pain then yell at her the next to get out of her wallowing and get on with her life.

I loved the supporting characters. Randy, Clay, and Heather were those friends anyone would be blessed to have. Eric was the police officer that gives all police officer a bad name and is definitely the character you can’t wait to see get what’s coming to him. The mystery girl’s character was extremely confusing at times, especially with her description of steals and the way she seemed to be inserted into the story at odd times. I was able to narrow down who she was but did not get it right until she was exposed to the reader.

With a little clean up and polishing, this could be an excellent story.

I received this copy from Amabel Daniels in exchange for my honest review.

The Butterfly Code.caHave you ever wondered what it would be like to look across the room and feel a spark of recognition with someone you have never met or when music plays in the background as you look into each other’s eyes as he drives down the street? What do you do when this connection consumes your every waking moment? You follow that line and see where it could lead. At least, that is what Aeris does when she meets Hunter. Aeris is a young woman that has recently graduated Julliard, has her future set in stone, and will not be sidelined by anything, including love. If anyone wants to be involved with her it will be on her terms and the only terms she has, is playing first chair violinist for the New York Philharmonic.
Then she ignores her father’s advice and goes to the Phoenix Research Lab for Highly Contagious Diseases, to see what this place has to do with her and why she feels it has something to do with her mother’s death when she was little.
Through death threats, deathly injuries and cocooning possibilities, we follow Aeris and Hunter through her metamorphosis into the unknown.

I really enjoyed this book. It is one that keeps you are on the edge of your seat and when it is over you are begging for more, or if you are like me, emailing the author and asking, “How much longer.”

Thank you to the author for the digital advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

A brand new series from the author of The Gentlemen Next Door, praised for being a “delightful Regency romp… in the spirit of Georgette Heyer.”

THE KISS A BELLE SERIES

Five supportive sisters.

Five friendly gentlemen.

Five stolen kisses.

Everyone has kissed someone, but who has kissed whom?

Secrets of the past will become very much present as arrangements are made and proposals fly in this charming, Regency-style series.

Book 1: Kiss Me After

Book 2: Kiss Me Darkly

Book 3: Kiss Me Sweetly

Book 4: Kiss Me Softly

Book 5: Kiss Me Again

While all of the stories can be enjoyed as standalones, you may want to read them all. Books 1–3 occur concurrently and can be read in any order; Books 4 and 5 follow respectively.

Kiss Me AfterMeet Alice Belle—the Bossy Belle—used to getting her way. If anyone has to fall on the matrimonial sword it will be she and not her sisters. She has set her sights on the richest, most titled gentlemen in her acquaintance. The perfect man to make her father happy, leaving her beloved sisters free to marry whom they choose.

Meet Robert Crawford—ringleader—used to masterminding his way. If anyone is going to marry Alice Belle, it is he. Never mind that he’s poor, without a title, and completely unsuitable for Alice in the eyes of her father. He loves her. Which makes him the perfect man to make her happy, whether she realizes it or not.

Kiss Me DarklyMeet Dinah Belle—the Blasé Belle—who never gets emotional because there is no problem—including love—that she cannot solve with her superior intellect. The irrational emotion of love has destroyed her family, but it must have a cure, and she has the perfect test case by which to discover it.

Meet Graham Abernathy—the popular duke’s son—a gentleman who goes out of his way to please others and be well liked. Not that it’s done him any good since the woman he loves has thrown him over for someone else. Heartbroken, he attracts the interest of one Dinah Belle, who has her sights set on him—for research, of all things.

Dinah has no intention of failing. He has no intention of being cured.

Kiss Me SweetlyMeet Bridget Belle—the Bookish Belle—her head full of mischief and ideas. Unlike her sisters, she has every intention of marrying a storybook hero. Someone romantic and passionate—just like her.

Meet Benjamin Abernathy—the sensible duke’s son—his head firmly on his shoulders. Being the rational one amongst his friends has seen him through school and the war. But it will take more than reason and logic to win a battle of wits against Bridget.

Kiss Me SoftlyMeet Seraphina Belle—the Belle Belle—whose face has launched a legion of metaphorical ships. Since her birth caused her mother’s death, she’s determined to be the perfect daughter. As a dowager duchess at the height of respectability, she is known for turning out perfect matches… until he threatens to ruin her perfect reputation.

Kiss Me AgainMeet Charlotte Belle—the Bovine Belle—who has made a career of being utterly unremarkable. The middle and forgotten child, she is completely unseen, until he sees her. Not that it matters, because the only thing worse than falling in love is doing so with someone who can never love you back.
